Moriyama’s style of photography can be described as subjective documentary, and you can see his great work here.

Nobuyoshi Araki

July 7, 2009

It’s hard to define what Araki is up to. A little bit of everything and a lot of bondage maybe, but few photographers are as versatile and knowledgeable as the crazy japanese.

If you would like to see more videos of Araki, I can strongly recommend to watch “Arakamentari” (and here is the trailer):

Here is a good reminder on what has changed and what has remained the same in photography, the last 40 years. Good fun to watch, and be sure to check out the web-page you’re getting redirected to (a lot of interesting and fun stuff).

Interesting interview with American/Belgian photographer Tomas van Houtryve, who went undercover as a Belgian chocolate-maker in order to penetrate the secretive nation of North-Korea. Listen to his fascinating tale at BBC world service here, and take a look at his website here.
The pictures from the North-Korea can be found on his website, or use this direct link at Foreign Policy here. I have also added his blog to my blogroll that can be found on the left hand side of my blog.

Update:
interesting documentary about North-Korea:
